AEW Star Shockingly Namedropped During WWE Clash In Paris
WWE normally likes to avoid acknowledging stars not with the company, but they made an exception for a top AEW talent at Clash In Paris.
Clash In Paris ended in jaw-dropping fashion as Becky Lynch aligned on-screen with Seth Rollins and The Vision as she helped her husband retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Lynch’s actions could lead to the long-awaited return to WWE of former Divas Champion AJ Lee. A mixed tag team match is expected, pitting Rollins and Lynch against Punk and Lee at some point in the future.
Michael Cole Shouts Out AEW Star During John Cena Match
John Cena also clashed with Logan Paul in one of Cena’s final matches of his legendary career. Cena and Paul pulled out some moves best associated with other wrestling stars, which earned one AEW star a shoutout from Michael Cole on commentary. After Paul hit Cena with an uppercut in the corner, Cole noted it was a “Cesaro-like uppercut.” Cesaro is now best known as AEW star and Death Rider Claudio Castagnoli.

Castagnoli’s uppercut was not the only move borrowed from an AEW star by Logan Paul. Paul also broke out his version of Hangman Adam Page’s Buckshot Lariat, but WWE commentary did not mention the AEW World Champion.
Claudio Castagnoli helped Jon Moxley take Will Ospreay out of action at Forbidden Door after the huge lights out steel cage match. Castagnoli went on to lose to Darby Allin in a Falls Count Anywhere match after that show, as Allin set his sights on a one-on-one showdown with Jon Moxley.
