AEW Star Sends Message As Exit Rumours Grow

A seldom-used AEW wrestler commented on their future with the company.

The AEW roster is full of wrestlers who compete regularly on the company’s main television shows Dynamite and Collision, as well as the Ring of Honor brand.

There are only so many spots available for wrestlers on those shows every week, so it leads to a situation where some people are barely used by the company. Since AEW doesn’t release wrestlers that often, what usually happens is that a contract expires, and the wrestler is no longer part of the company if AEW’s bosses decide it is time to move on.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week, Dave Meltzer commented on some AEW roster changes.

Besides Rey Fenix being off the roster, there are a few names of wrestlers we were told were not going to be re-signed as their deals expire. The names are still listed on the roster, which is often slow to update although Fenix was taken off immediately. The names we heard were all people not being used at all. Abadon, Zak Knight and Nick Comoroto are the only names known.

In response to a post on X/Twitter, Abadon responded to the report.

“Man I can’t WAIT to make my own announcement.”

Abadon debuted in AEW in March 2020, and they signed a contract in June of that year. Abadon hasn’t wrestled in AEW since the December 2023 Worlds End PPV, but does appear on the ROH brand.

Mariah May’s Instagram Post Suggests She May Be Leaving AEW Soon

It has also been reported that former AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May’s contract with AEW expires at some point this summer.

May is aware of the chatter about her status in the company because she remarked on Instagram Stories with this quote:

You can’t make the wrong decision because every decision leads you to where you’re supposed to be

There is also a photo that May posted that mentions Orlando, Florida, which is obviously the home of the WWE Performance Center. It could all be a smokescreen too, but May’s posts are getting the wrestling world talking.
