AEW Star Makes Shock Return After 2 Years Out

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday was packed with action but the headlines might have been stolen by one star who hadn’t been seen in a very long time.

Tony Khan was forced into late changes for Dynamite with Britt Baker pulling out of the show due to illness. Baker had been scheduled to face Willow Nightingale with the winner moving onto challenge Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Championship at WrestleDream.

Nightingale has been involved with May on-screen in recent weeks and she still got her chance to challenge the champion but in a four-way match that also featured Saraya, Jamie Hayter, and Nyla Rose on Dynamite Title Tuesday.

However, Jamie Hayter’s chances at picking up the win were ruined when Penelope Ford – who had not been seen in a very long time – ran to ringside and nailed her with a steel chair. Hayter chased Ford to the back following the assault, abandoning the match in the process. Willow Nightingale picked up the victory meaning she will fight for the AEW Women’s World Title at WrestleDream.

Penelope Ford Last Competed In AEW In 2022

The last time Penelope Ford competed in an AEW ring was in October 2022 when she teamed with Kip Sabian to win a mixed tag team match on the nixed Dark: Elevation show.

In 2023, Ford and Sabian detailed the heartbreak they went through after suffering a miscarriage the prior year.
