AEW Star Likes Post Claiming CM Punk “Assaulted People”

One AEW star doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to bring CM Punk back to the company after liking a social media post that suggested the former AEW World Champion “assaulted people.”

The facts remain sketchy at best as to what really happened backstage after CM Punk let rip at the post-All Out press conference in September 2022. What is widely accepted is that a fight took place involving Punk, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and company producer Ace Steel.

Everyone involved in the fight was suspended pending an investigation with The Elite since returning to AEW television while Steel was apparently fired and Punk remains out of action due to an injury suffered in his All Out main event against Jon Moxley.

Despite some former colleagues of Punk referring to him as “a cancer,” WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently explained on Busted Open Radio why he’d bring The Best In The World back to AEW:

“If I was in charge, I would bring him back and I would bring him back with him saying to the wrestling world, not an apology, but just state the facts. ‘Grown men will disagree and things will be said that probably shouldn’t have been said and I regret airing my dirty laundry in front of the world. It won’t happen again.

“Do we agree on everything? No. Can we work together and exist and have a business relationship? Yes. I will not let my personal feelings, my personal gripes, and concerns interfere with business again, because ultimately, the important thing is business and I am the business and business is good. AEW is better with me around.’”

But not everyone agrees with that sentiment. A reply to Henry’s quote on social media read “Bro (Punk) assaulted people, not the same as a disagreement” and fans were quick to notice that Jungle Boy Jack Perry seemingly agreed with the sentiment, offering a like.

Kenny Omega has recently opened up about the backstage brawl at All Out and admits the whole thing was “unnecessary.”
