A forgotten AEW star is no longer All Elite.

CJ Perry made her long-awaited AEW debut at All Out 2023, coming to the aid of her then-husband Miro as he was attacked by Powerhouse Hobbs.

The star initially managed Miro as she had done for several years in WWE, but cracks quickly formed in their relationship. However, by the end of the year, they were back on the same page after Perry turned on Andrade El Idolo to help Miro to victory at Worlds End. The match was Andrade’s last with the company before he returned to WWE.

It’s now been confirmed that the event was also Perry’s last appearance with AEW as she has also left the company. While speaking with USA Today, the star said her time with the promotion had “finished.”

Perry added that while she’s wrestled previously, she focused on being in a managerial role, comparing herself to Paul Heyman.

“I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible,” she said. “I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”

CJ Perry Left AEW Months Ago

Meanwhile, a new report from Fightful Select has offered more details on Perry’s exit, and exactly when she left the company. According to Fightful, Perry was actually part of the group of releases back in April.

The report adds that while the former WWE star was initially on a per-appearance, she did eventually sign a contract.

Fightful concludes that “Perry’s AEW run was impeded by injuries both to her and on-screen clients along the way.” The star was forced to undergo two surgeries while with AEW after contracting an MRSA infection that spread from her finger up her arm.
