AEW Star Kenny Omega Will Resume Wrestling Career
A new report has some good news on Kenny Omega.
Back in late May, it was reported that Kenny Omega had undergone surgery as he continued his battle with diverticulitis. The former AEW World Champion was diagnosed with the illness back in December but had hoped to avoid going under the knife.
Omega hasn’t wrestled since defeating Ethan Page on December 5th at a taping for AEW Collision. The match was broadcast four days later. Around this time, the star was in a great deal of pain but continued to try and work through the undiagnosed issue.
In the May report, it was noted there were no creative plans for Omega as AEW was expecting a lengthy recovery. But, it seems more certain than ever that he will be back.
Kenny Omega Will Wrestle Again
Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that while there are no official updates on Omega, the general feeling is that he will eventually resume his career. However, at present, he’s yet to be cleared to begin training.
Regarding Kenny Omega, we haven’t heard anything new past he’s doing better and while we don’t have any kind of a date for him returning, the feeling right now is that he will be returning and his career isn’t over. He hasn’t been cleared to start any training yet.
Despite the illness, Omega briefly returned to AEW on the May 1st episode of Dynamite to get involved in the storyline involving the Young Bucks and Tony Khan.
