AEW Star Throws Support Behind Jon Moxley After Bryan Danielson Betrayal

Jon Moxley

An AEW star has pledged their allegiance to Jon Moxley.

After a two-month hiatus, Jon Moxley returned to AEW in late August with a warning for Darby Allin and the company as a whole alongside a new on-screen partner in Marina Shafir. The appearance created more questions than it answered, but at All Out things became clear.

In the minutes after Bryan Danielson retained his AEW World Championship with a win against Jack Perry, Claudio Castagnoli and Moxley attacked. The Swiss star with an uppercut, and Moxley with a plastic bag as he looked to suffocate the life out of his former friend. PAC also showed his true colours by holding back a distraught Wheeler Yuta during the assault.

On the following episode of Dynamite, Moxley explained the attack in a chilling video. The former World Champion evoked the words of he and Danielson’s former mentor William Regal, before declaring himself King, claiming diplomacy has failed.

“Blood alone moves the wheels of history. Our mentor called Bryan Danielson the perfect wrestler, Bryan was always the Lordship’s favourite. But he saw himself in me, and I am, Lord knows, far from perfect.

Our mentor once told me, guys like us, we are what we are. We can’t pretend to be anything else.

I am no villain, and I am no hero. Now, I know exactly why God put me here. I am the one true King of these lands. We tried your way Bryan, diplomacy has failed. Today, I choose war.”

In reaction to the video, Claudio Castagnoli has left fans in no doubt where his loyalties lie. In a post on social media, Castagnoli shared a photo of himself hitting Danielson with an uppercut, with the caption “For the one true King.”

Later on during the same edition of Dynamite, the new faction attacked Komander, Private Party, and more, with PAC again hammering home that “diplomacy has failed.”
