AEW Star Wants Iron Woman Match With Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone is a woman in demand.

Since arriving in AEW in March 2023, Mercedes Mone has overcome every challenge placed in her way and remains undefeated. During this period the star has captured the TBS Championship and put on impressive performances against the likes of Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale.

However, one woman Mone is yet to face is former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa. But that doesn’t mean Mone isn’t on her radar.

During an interview with Tim Hann Rivera in late 2024, Rosa said she’d love an Iron Woman Match with Mone, referencing her NXT bout with Bayley in 2015.

“I just want to beat her ass. I just want to beat everybody’s ass. But I don’t want to do a street fight. I would love to do, because she’s been having some badass matches, she did this in NXT with Bayley, I want to do an Iron Woman match with her. It’s time for her. She likes doing some crazy sh*t, and I think she’s at another level, and that would definitely put my ass in shape. I really do want to do that,”

Mercedes Mone Hit By Panic Attack

At Wrestle Dynasty, Mone became a triple Women’s Champion with a victory over Mina Shirakawa. In the ‘Winner Take All’ bout Mone successfully defended her NJPW Women’s Title while adding Shirakawa’s RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.

However, her trip to Japan wasn’t totally plain sailing.

Following the match, Mercedes Mone revealed that she suffered a panic attack just hours before the event. The star said she was “petrified” of letting everyone down as she stood on the brink of achieving her dream and wrestling inside the Tokyo Dome.
