AEW Star Injured During Dynamite
Another AEW star got injured on Dynamite.
On the special three-hour joint episode of Dynamite and Collision on October 15, The Opps put the World Trios Title on the line against LFI’s Rush, Dralistico and The Beast Mortos.
When all was said and done, it was Powerhouse Hobbs, Samoa Joe, and Katsuyori Shibata who retained the gold, but the match didn’t pass off without incident. In the closing sequence, Rush stumbled into the ring after his kneepad got caught on the bottom rope. In the process, the star landed awkwardly on his elbow.
As reported by Bryan Alvarez, Rush dislocated his elbow with the stumble, but he quickly popped it back in for the post-match angle.
AEW Star Won’t Return For Two Years
The news on Rush comes after Kota Ibushi suffered a broken femur during a recent episode of AEW Collision. Although Ibishi quickly underwent surgery and he remains determined to return to the ring, his comeback is believed to be some way off.
In an update from the hospital, Ibushi said that it will be a year before he recovers, and two years before he’s able to wrestle again.
Ibushi has endured an injury-hit run since sustaining a serious shoulder injury back in 2021. The star didn’t return to the ring for 18 months, and in January 2024, he suffered a major ankle injury while dealing with an existing ankle issue.
