Major AEW Star Legitimately Injured During Blood & Guts Match
It seems not every AEW star has made it out of Blood & Guts unscathed.
The 12th of November edition of AEW Dynamite saw the return of Blood & Guts, and for the first time, the female stars of the company got their chance to go wild in the double-ring steel cage match.
AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander headed up a team including Willow Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, Harley Cameron, Mina Shirakawa, and Toni Storm to take on Mercedes Mone’s squad of Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue.
The match did not skimp on bloodiness and brutality as it came to its shocking conclusion. The Triangle of Madness forced Toni Storm to watch Bayne and Shafir brutalise her tag team partner, Mina Shirakawa, forcing the former AEW Women’s World Champion to surrender.
Jamie Hayter Suffers In AEW Blood & Guts
The match had to be changed in the lead-up, with Queen Aminata and Penelope Ford both missing out due to their own respective injuries. Marina Shafir replaced Ford with Shirakawa, taking Aminata’s place in the bout.
Now that all is said and done, it seems the injury issues have continued for AEW. Fightful Select reported that coming out of Blood & Guts, Jamie Hayter was “banged up” and may have chipped several teeth. One source was quoted as saying that Hayter was “as bad ass as you would expect”, considering her condition.
