AEW Star Injured And Written Off Television

The injury curse has hit a rising AEW star.

In the main event of the July 13th edition of Collision, The Undisputed Kingdom overcame The Conglomeration after chaos aplenty at ringside. The end of the match came when The Kingdom hit Kyle O’Reilly with a spike piledriver after Orange Cassidy was attacked by Trent Beretta.

After the match, Beretta went to put a beating on O’Reilly, but he was pulled away by The Kingdom. At this, Cassidy re-emerged with a monkey wrench and laid out Beretta from behind. With The Kingdom now backing away, they were flattened by Tomohiro Ishii.

Following the show, it was reported by Fightful Select that the attack on Trent was a way of writing him off television after he suffered an injury. There’s no word on the exact nature of the injury, but the star had been set for a push before being sidelined.

Trent hasn’t wrestled since being by Orange Cassidy at Double or Nothing.

FTR Return On AEW Collision

Earlier in the show, FTR returned to AEW to make the save for Tommy Billington. In the opening match of the show, the British star was defeated by Konosuke Takeshita, but that didn’t stop Don Callis from offering him the chance to join the Don Callis Family.

However, Billington made it clear in no uncertain terms he wouldn’t be joining the faction, leading to him being jumped by Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. With the beatdown in full swing, FTR returned to even the odds to a huge reaction.

Elsewhere there were wins for Nyla Rose, Skye Blue, Roderick Strong, Top Flight, and The Bang Bang Gang.
