AEW Star “Indifferent” Over Future WWE Return
AEW star Taya Valkyrie doesn’t know if she could ever subject herself to being part of WWE again after her surprisingly short run in the company in 2021.
Valkyrie was a major name in IMPACT Wrestling before she signed with WWE in the spring of 2021. Changing her name to Franky Monet, the star appeared on the NXT brand but only competed six times before she was released amid ongoing roster cuts in late 2021.
Speaking on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet, Taya Valkyrie admitted that while she’s happy friends of hers have found success since returning to WWE, it’s not something she’s looking for herself:
“I didn’t really think about it too much. Obviously, I have some friends that have gone back, for example, Chelsea Green is an example and she’s thriving, and she is killing it. I’m so proud of her. But like, I didn’t really think about it too much. I just knew that if it was meant to be, it was meant to be. And also I was kind of indifferent.
I didn’t know if I wanted to subject myself to being in a space like that again. And I mean, it worked out. I couldn’t be happier about it.”
Valkyrie will have the chance to win the first gold of her AEW career as she challenges the undefeated TBS Champion Jade Cargill for her gold at Double Or Nothing.
