A former AEW Champion has left the company.

Back in March, it was reported that Mariah May was set to become a free agent within months, sparking huge speculation about her future.

May had risen to become one of the company’s top stars and a jewel in its women’s division thanks to her lengthy feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm. That storyline came to an end at Revolution when the British star failed to beat Storm to regain the Women’s World Championship in a Hollywood Ending.

To add to the rumours, May hasn’t been seen on television or wrestled since.

In response to the recent speculation around her future, Mariah May hit back at claims she was “jobless,” telling fans she was simply on vacation.

Mariah May Has Left AEW

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, May has been removed from AEW’s website, and that usually means that the wrestler in question has left the company and is free to sign elsewhere.

Johnson added that WWE sources have indicated that they expect May to debut with the company in the “near future.”

In 2025, several AEW stars have moved to WWE, with the likes of Penta, Rey Fenix, Ricky Saints, Rusev, and Aleister Black all following Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill to the sports entertainment giant.

AEW star Abadon has also announced they’re leaving the promotion in June when their contract expires.
