AEW Star Vows To Be The Future GOAT Of Pro Wrestling
One AEW star is setting the world on fire, but that’s not enough as they vow to become the greatest of all time.
At WrestleDream, Hangman Adam Page retained his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe before he was viciously turned on by Joe and The Opps. The show also saw Kris Statlander retain her AEW Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm before Mercedes Mone captured her eleventh title when she defeated Mina Shirakawa for the Interim ROH Women’s Television Title.
Afterwards, Shirakawa and Storm commiserated backstage, but many fans are hopeful they’ll have reason to celebrate soon enough, with the brackets for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Title tournament being announced on Dynamite.
AEW’s Kyle Fletcher Predicts Big Things For Himself
One star happy with their night at WrestleDream was Kyle Fletcher, who successfully retained his TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe. After that bout, Fletcher was buoyant as he claimed he was the future greatest of all time in a video released by AEW on social media:
Great is a good word to describe Mark Briscoe. He is a great competitor, but he is not ‘The Protostar.’ He is not the future greatest professional wrestler of all time. He is not the best professional wrestler on God’s green. Today that is your TNT Champion. That is ‘The Protostar’ Kyle Fletcher.
And this title, I’ve said it every single time, six defenses now, it is not going anywhere for a very, very, very, very, very long time. So Mark Briscoe, congratulations, you stepped up, you brought everything you had and it was still not good enough.
So now, for me, for the Don Callis Family, it is onto the next, looking forward past Mark Briscoe, and onto the greener grass baby. ‘The Protostar,’ the TNT Champion is here to stay. So get ready to say my full name.
“Kyle Fletcher. Genetic Flowsion. This is the next level of professional athlete.”
