Top AEW Star Wants “Founding Father” Chris Jericho To Stay
There’s no rush to push Chris Jericho out of the AEW exit.
From the moment he took a break from AEW back in April, Chris Jericho has been linked with a return to WWE.
Since going on hiatus, several reports have claimed that Jericho has reached out to his former employer, and a potential deal is very much on the cards. It’s believed that Jericho’s deal with AEW expires in January, at least in theory, leaving the way clear for a spectacular return at the 2026 Royal Rumble.
Meanwhile, the veteran recently threw a verbal jab at the promotion as he praised TNA, a company with a very close relationship with WWE.
During a new interview with Adam’s Apple, The Young Bucks were asked about Jericho and whether he’ll remain All Elite. Although in the eyes of fans, Jericho’s return to WWE is something of a done deal, Nick Jackson said he’d love to see the star stay with AEW.
“He’s a founding father, so of course we want him to stay. We’re not sure where he’s at, headspace-wise, right now. He’s on a break and trying to figure it out on his own. Sometimes, you have to let a wrestler like that figure it out on his own.
Could Chris Jericho Retire In AEW?
The comments from The Young Bucks come as Tony Khan made a surprising pitch of his own concerning Chris Jericho.
Khan suggested that he would love to see Jericho have his last match in AEW while praising the veteran. However, he did note that he doesn’t expect Jericho to hang up his boots any time soon. For his part, Jericho has repeatedly stated he has no intention to walk away while he still feels he can perform at a high level.
In an earlier interview, Tony Khan confirmed that Chris Jericho is still under contract with AEW, adding that the “door is always open.”
