AEW Star Wants To “Finish The Story” With Forgotten Former Champion
An AEW star isn’t ready to leave behind the most heated rivalry.
Britt Baker hasn’t been seen on AEW television since November 13, 2024. After beating Penelope Ford on Dynamite, she was confronted by Serena Deeb, but Baker controversially dismissed her, repeating the phrase “no one cares” into the camera after the star made her entrance.
Despite being under contract until late 2026 and potentially into 2027 if injury time is added, there appears to be no plan to bring her back into the fold.
As her absence continues, Baker has removed all references to AEW on her social media. However, not everyone is ready to move on.
An AEW Star Wants To Face Britt Baker
During an interview with Masks, Mats and Mayhem, Thunder Rosa was asked about Baker and admitted that she’d love to face her one more time. However, she conceded that any decision on the former Women’s Champion is well above her pay grade.
The two women have a lengthy history stretching all the way back to 2018. However, it was in AEW through 2021 and into 2022 that their feud was truly solidified. In March 2021, they became the first women to headline Dynamite, and 12 months later, Rosa beat Baker in a Cage Match to win the Women’s World Championship.
“Again, it’s not up to me. It’s not up to her. It’s up to the people above us. And that’s [above] my pay grade. I would love to. I think it would be a good idea to close the chapter on our story and do it right… That’s what I’m saying — it’s time to finish the story.”
Rosa added that a feeling of disrespect could be used to jump-start the storyline for another match.
“I think it’s a matter of respect, right? Like, she might feel disrespected. She wants to get the respect back from the locker room.”
Speaking elsewhere, Thunder Rosa said that she’ll be back in the ring “fairly soon” after missing several months. Rosa hasn’t wrestled since sustaining an undislocated injury during the women’s Gauntlet Match at All In Texas in August.
