One of AEW’s most unlikely champions has admitted that their historic win has left them elated and says no one can ever take that achievement away.

The first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned on Dynamite Winter Is Coming when Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale shocked many people by defeating Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa to win the gold.

For Cameron, especially, her rise has been nothing short of meteoric in AEW, as she still hasn’t competed in 100 matches in her entire career.

Harley Cameron Elated By AEW Title Win

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Harley Cameron addressed her place in the record books in AEW, and says her achievement will never be erased:

It was amazing. I think that it represents faith in you as a competitor, as a performer.

Being with Willow, who I absolutely adore, getting to make history together and being the first ever AEW Tag Team Champions is something that I’m like ‘Wow.’ There’s ups and downs in life, and there’s ebbs and flows in the business in general, but there’s monumental moments like this where you go, ‘Well, no one can take that away from me.’

And that no matter which way the journey goes, there’s moments that you can look back and be proud of, and I’m so elated that I get to have that moment.

Cameron noted that she’s looking forward to testing herself against Athena and Mercedes Mone again when they meet at Worlds End:

I will say truthfully we have Worlds End coming up, obviously, Willow and I against Mercedes and Athena. I think that our first tag match against them was one of my favourite matches I’ve ever had in my life and I genuinely am so excited for that. When I had a taste of it the first time, it was one of those matches that stays with you and makes you go, ‘Gosh, I’d love to face them again.’
