AEW Star Credits Sting With Bringing Calm To The Chaos

Sting AEW

Sting is the voice of reason.

AEW Revolution is all about Sting. The World Championship might be on the line, and the Women’s Title is up for grabs, but on March 3rd, the wrestling world says goodbye to Steve Borden as he steps into the ring for the final time.

Although their paths never crossed in AEW, Sting, and Samoa Joe spent much of their time in TNA Wrestling working together, both as friends and enemies.

Appearing on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast, Joe reflected on his time spent with The Icon, paying tribute to the veteran.

“When you talk about Sting and the wonderful relationship I’ve had with him throughout my career. He’s been a nemesis, a friend, a tag team partner. He’s been the man who has won a championship from me. He’s been so many things throughout my life and my career. One of the biggest things is that he’s been a sage voice, and in chaotic times, he’s been somebody that has been able to speak a little calmness into a very bad situation and help a young up-and-coming pro wrestler out.

Of the many things he’s been to me in my career, those are definitely a few examples off the top of my head. For an illustrious career as he’s had, a quarter of that career I can only wish on to my most favorite person. Sting has definitely left an indelible impression on the industry. So much has been influenced by him, his style, what he’s done, what he’s represented in the ring.

To see him finish up his career in AEW, it’s bittersweet, it’s a little sad, but no one deserves a send off of the highest magnitude as the Stinger does,”

Sting To Headline One More Time

According to a recent report, Sting’s final match will headline AEW Revolution. At the event, the WWE Hall of Famer will team with Darby Allin to defend the World Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks in a Tornado Tag Team Match.

Meanwhile, Samoa Joe will defend his World Title against Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page.
