AEW Star Could Postpone Retirement Plans
One of AEW’s biggest stars could yet stay with the company.
Since signing with AEW, Adam Copeland has been open about his retirement plans. While he hasn’t put a date on the moment when he’ll hang up his boots the veteran has repeatedly hinted that his current deal will be his last as an in-ring performer.
However, things might not be so clear-cut.
During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Copeland has now admitted he could sign a new contract.
“I mean, maybe. You never know, if I can keep performing at a level, but more importantly a level that I can feel proud of.
I just don’t wanna get to a point where I’m really struggling and it’s like pulling teeth to get it done, I don’t want to do that. And thankfully because my career I’m at a point where I don’t have to do that. I’m doing this because I love it.”
Adam Copeland Turned Down AEW In 2019
During the same interview, Adam Copeland broke down just how close he came to joining AEW back in 2019 before returning from what was thought to be a career-ending injury.
The WWE Hall of Famer said he got “really close” to putting pen to paper with AEW, before speaking with Vince McMahon and deciding returning to WWE made more sense at the time.
