An absent AEW star will miss several months.

Back in March, it was reported that an AEW World Tag Team Title Match had been pulled from Dynasty after one of the challengers suffered an injury. The participant in question was Brian Cage, who it was believed had suffered a knee injury.

As a result, Cage and his partner, Lance Archer, were replaced in the match by Big Bill and Bryan Keith.

Meanwhile, Jay White, Orange Cassidy, and Mark Davis have also suffered injuries in recent weeks.

AEW Star Dealing With Nasty Injury

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Brian Cage had suffered a torn quad, and not a knee injury as previously suspected. Although he has vowed to return quicker, there’s a fear Cage could miss the rest of the year.

Regarding Brian Cage, it appears his injury was a torn quad and not a knee injury. That’s usually a one year recuperation period but he’s vowing to come back quicker. He had an injury in the leg for months that he’d been working on. He didn’t realize it was as bad as it was.

Meltzer explained that Cage suffered the injury during a match with Chris Masters while executing a Spinebuster. He added that the star initially hoped he could continue working until All In Texas on July 12.

He just felt he could work through it through at least All In Texas and then taking time off to let it heal.

AEW’s injury crisis has continued to worsen in recent weeks after PAC suffered an injury during the April 9 edition of Dynamite. The British star was replaced in a World Trios Tag Team Title match by Jon Moxley on April 16, where the Death Riders lost the gold to The Opps.
