Absent AEW Star Has Contract Renewed Against Their Wishes
One AEW star may have had their contract renewed by the company despite asking for that not to happen.
At AEW Revolution in March 2023, Danhausen suffered a very serious and very evil injury. Danhausen was in a four-team tag team match with Orange Cassidy against the AEW Tag Team Champions, The Gunns, The Acclaimed and Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett. While Danhausen put up a fight, he also took the pinfall when The Gunns hit their finishing move to retain the titles. Shortly after the match, Danhausen revealed he had suffered a torn pectoral muscle that required surgery.
Following his recovery, Danhausen returned to AEW TV in November 2023 but has not appeared at all for the company in 2024 or 2025, leaving many fans wondering about his future in the company.
And it seems, despite his prolonged absence, Danhausen is still All Elite.
Danhausen Has AEW Contract Extended
Fightful Select has reported that, after previously noting that Danhausen’s AEW contract would end in July 2025, the star is still featured on the company’s roster page. It’s now been reported that months have been added to Danhausen’s contract that take the end date well into 2026 instead of the original July 1st 2025 end date. It is believed that Danhausen had asked AEW not to pick up his option, as he has barely been used in the company over the past couple of years. There is still said to be no creative plans for the star, indicating that he still likely won’t be back.
Danhausen recently posted a video on his social media with WWE star CM Punk. CM Punk was infamously fired by AEW in 2023, and following that, Danhausen only appeared three more times for Tony Khan’s company.
When Danhausen’s contract expires, it remains to be seen if WWE will have any interest in signing the star.
