AEW Star Competes In First Match Since 2022
MVP has taken to the ring for the first time in two years, but not in AEW.
In the weeks after MVP made his shock AEW debut in September, he brought Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley to the company to reunite their WWE faction as The Hurt Syndicate. Since then, Benjamin has had several matches in the promotion, losing only once to Swerve Strickland. Lashley avenged that blip, though, as he made his AEW pay-per-view debut at Full Gear to score a convincing victory over the former World Champion.
Of the three, MVP is the only one not to have competed in the promotion so far, having not gotten in the ring himself since he and Omos were defeated by the Street Profits on WWE Raw back in 2022. However, that changed on November 24th, as the star took on Josh Barnett at GCW Bloodsport XII. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well for the former United States Champion, as Barnett forced him into unconsciousness with a Rear Naked Choke to get the victory. After the bout, MVP admitted that he hadn’t been ready for Barnett before promising to face him again.

AEW Star MVP Claims Triple H Avoided Conversation About The Hurt Business In WWE
During a discussion on social media, MVP claimed that Triple H wouldn’t talk to him about the future of The Hurt Business in WWE. The star also revealed that Vince McMahon had previously tried to turn the group into “Nation of Domination 2.0,” something they wanted to avoid as The Hurt Business was “never about race,” but rather he, Lashley, and Benjamin’s friendship.
