AEW Star Claims CM Punk Fight Helped Jack Perry
Jack Perry is just a douchebag according to one AEW star.
Jack Perry and Darby Allin have spent much of 2024 at war. Unsurprisingly, Perry was more than a little miffed at Allin for setting him on fire at Double or Nothing.
The hostility continued into Blood & Guts, where Allin threatened to set Perry on fire again if he didn’t surrender. In the end, Nick Jackson agreed to give the face-painted star a shot at Jack Perry’s TNT Championship to save him from a fiery demise.
The match between the pair will take place at All In, with Allin aiming to win the TNT Title for the third time.
Jack Perry Found His Niche
As he heads back to Wembley Stadium, Jack Perry will be hoping for a much less chaotic evening than he found in 2023. On that occasion, he famously told CM Punk to cry him a river before getting into a physical altercation with the now-WWE star. The incident led to Punk getting fired, while Perry was suspended.
In an interview with Ringside Collectibles, Allin suggested this clash with Punk helped Perry find himself as a heel, and get to where he is today.
No, it’s really interesting because I felt like last year, Jack Perry was going to All In as a heel, but I really didn’t feel like he like found his niche. Unfortunately, he did what he did, but weirdly enough, I feel like that actually made him find his niche. They say wrestling’s the best when you’re yourself turned up to 100, and he’s just a douchebag, so it’s kind of cool that he can just be his normal self.”
AEW All In is set to take place on August 25th at Wembley Stadium in the UK.
