AEW Star Cash Wheeler’s Hearing Set After Felony Gun Charge

AEW star Cash Wheeler is facing an arraignment hearing after being charged with a third-degree felony.

It was reported on August 18th, 2023 that Cash Wheeler (real name Daniel Wheeler) had been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. The alleged incident took place on July 27th.

According to a police report, Wheeler’s alleged victim claims that the star was “pointing a black semi-automatic handgun out of the driver’s window at him with a strong stare.” The alleged victim stated that he “feared for his life.”

Court documents showed that Wheeler entered a plea of not guilty on August 3rd. In the not guilty plea, it was also revealed that he is requesting a jury trial. A portion of the plea reads:

“The undersigned attorney of The Umansky Law Firm, files this Notice of Appearance on behalf of the Defendant in the above-styled cause. The Defendant, by and through the undersigned attorney, hereby waives appearance for purposes of Arraignment and enters a plea of Not Guilty to the charges filed in this cause. The Defendant hereby requests a Jury Trial on the said charges and requests a copy of the Information filed against the Defendant.”

Cash Wheeler Set For Arraignment Hearing

An arraignment hearing in front of Judge Vincent Falcone III has now been set for the 20th of February. The charge against Wheeler is listed as Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Assault) which is a third-degree felony.

While this charge has been hanging over Wheeler, he has continued to compete regularly in AEW. Wheeler and his FTR partner Dax Harwood again teamed with Daniel Garcia on the 3rd of February edition of Collision when they defeated The Patriarchy team of Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne.
