Cash Wheeler AEW

Former AEW Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler had faced trial for serious firearm charges but now, no trial will be taking place after all.

It was reported on August 18th, 2023 that Cash Wheeler (real name Daniel Wheeler) had been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. The alleged incident took place weeks earlier on July 27th.

According to a police report, Wheeler’s alleged victim claims that the star was “pointing a black semi-automatic handgun out of the driver’s window at him with a strong stare.” The alleged victim stated that he “feared for his life.”

AEW’s Cash Wheeler No Longer Facing Trial

A trial date had been set for May 20th but now no trial will be taking place at all. PWInsider reported that the prosecutor’s office had filed “Nolle Prosequi.” That Latin phrase is used in court documents to indicate that prosecutors have abandoned a case meaning that Wheeler’s trial will no longer take place and he will not face prosecution for the charges.

Cash Wheeler’s bond was released and the case was officially closed at 3 pm on the 13th of May. There is no indication as to why the prosecution decided to drop the case.

During his legal issues, Cash Wheeler has continued to compete in AEW and will be part of a huge Anarchy In The Arena match at Double Or Nothing in Las Vegas. Wheeler and his FTR partner Dax Harwood will be part of a Team AEW alongside Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson to face The Elite.
