AEW Star Calls Out “Bulls**t” Interim Women’s World Title Situation
Taking to Twitter, Shawn Spears blasted All Elite Wrestling’s interim titles following the promotion crowning a new AEW Women’s Interim World Champion.
During AEW Full Gear on Saturday, November 19, 2022, Toni Storm defending her AEW Women’s Interim World Championship against Jamie Hayter, with the latter pulling out the victory to become the new title holder. Storm was the interim champion after the current champion Thunder Rosa made the announcement that she couldn’t compete at AEW All Out against Storm because of an injury to her back.
Recently, Storm has been questioning how All Elite Wrestling has an interim championship, however, the company’s owner Tony Khan isn’t a fan of stripping belts off of injured wrestlers. After CM Punk got injured, AEW created the interim world championship, with Jon Moxley carrying that status until the two met up in a title unification match.
On Twitter, Shawn Spears stated his views about All Elite Wrestling’s interim championships:
“This “interim” stuff is bullsh*t. You’re either the Champion, or you’re not.”
This “interim” stuff is bullshit.
You’re either the Champion, or you’re not.
