The AEW Star Bryan Danielson Wants To Become World Champion

Bryan Danielson on AEW Collision

Bryan Danielson has high hopes for a fellow AEW star.

For much of his time in WWE as Cesaro, Claudio Castagnoli had a reputation as one of the most underrated and underappreciated wrestlers in the world. The Swiss star has never been short of in-ring ability, but there was a feeling within WWE that the rest of his presentation could never be World Championship-level.

As such, Castagnoli arrived in AEW with a point to prove, and he quickly channeled that into an impressive run as ROH World Champion.

Speaking in a new interview with Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson — Castagnoli’s teammate in the Blackpool Combat Club, said he’d loved to see him become AEW World Champion.

“I would love to see Claudio as world champion. He’s one of the best I’ve ever been in the ring with.

I thought his Ring of Honor world title run was really special. I watched all of his matches, and I was in awe of it–as many people often are when they watch Claudio wrestle.”

Bryan Danielson Wants To Help The Next Generation

With regard to his own place in wrestling, Bryan Danielson is already looking to the future. He’s just months away from the end of his full-time career, but making sure his contribution to AEW extends well beyond his own matches.

In a recent interview, Danielson explained his love of working backstage and trying to coach and give the next generation the skills to keep moving wrestling forward.
