Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness is set for AEW Grand Slam.

To the surprise of just about everyone, including a raucous Wembley Stadium, Nigel McGuinness finally stepped back into the ring at All In. The British legend made an appearance in the Casino Gauntlet Match much to the delight of fans watching and proved he’s got more than a little bit of gas left in the tank.

After the match, McGuinness made no secret of the fact he wanted to wrestle again, with a long-rumoured match with a former rival on his radar. And incredibly that dream has come true. On the September 11th episode of Dynamite, it was announced that Bryan Danielson would meet Nigel McGuinness in a non-title match at Grand Slam.

The announcement came after McGuinness cut a promo on his rival, dubbing him the American Coward.

The pair last wrestled at ROH Final Countdown event at New York City’s Manhattan Center on September 26th, 2009.

Mariah May Takes Credit For New Bryan Danielson Challenge

During her match with “Timeless” Toni Storm at All In, Mariah May stopped off at the announce desk to plant and kiss on McGuinness. The veteran was left stunned and elated by the surprise moment.

During the event, fans joked that May’s kiss had brought McGuinness’ in-ring career back from the dead, and now the woman herself has got in on the joke.

After the match between Danielson and McGuinness was announced she shared the match graphic on social media writing “You’re welcome.”

May was also in action on AEW Dynamite where she defeated Queen Aminata in a World Title Eliminator.
