AEW Star Tells All On Brutal Injury That Kept Them Out Of The Ring
One AEW star has told the full story on the tough injury issues they’ve endured that kept them out of the ring for eight months.
AEW All In Texas saw MJF win the men’s Casino Gauntlet match to guarantee himself a future shot at the world championship. That match was also notable as it marked the return of Juice Robinson to AEW after he spent eight months on the injured list.
The last time fans had seen the Bang Bang Gang’s wildman was back in November 2024 when Robinson lost to Will Ospreay in the Continental Classic. Robinson was forced to withdraw from the tournament following that bout with Komander taking his place.
Juice Robinson Battles Back From Back Surgery & Broken Leg In AEW
Now speaking to Renee Paquette on Close Up, Juice Robinson has revealed just what kept him out of the ring for so long, but first explained the nature of the injury that kept him out of action in 2023:
I ruptured a disc in my lower back and it was pressing on a nerve and I was having issues with my leg. I was having trouble using it. It was the beginning of what could have gotten much worse. It’s not only scary, well I guess scary would be thinking oh, I’m not invincible. We get hurt a lot but spine, that’s like brain, heart…I’ve broken my hand, that’s bad…but spine, you need that. Every little thing, it’s controlled by that stack of dimes.
Robinson’s latest injury was a broken leg, and he noted wthat hile he felt he was recovering quickly from his back surgery, his leg injury was a lot harder to get better from:
I thought it would be a lot harder than it was. I was up moving pretty quick. It took a while to get back in the ring and then when I was just starting to get going and I snap my leg. That one was a lot harder than the back. I didn’t realize it, but it’s hard to sit down for four months, five months, and now you’re in a walking boot, just a long, long process. A lot of internal thinking.
