AEW Star Blasts Mercedes Mone’s Backstage Attitude

Mercedes Mone

A top AEW star is unimpressed by Mercedes Mone.

Since arriving in AEW back in March, Mercedes Mone has enjoyed nothing but success. She’s one of the highest-paid stars in the company, and in the ring, she’s captured the TBS Championship.

The star is also in possession of the NJPW Women’s Strong Title after beating Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door.

However, not everyone has been impressed by Mone and her presence backstage.

While appearing on Close-Up with Renee Paquette, Mariah May was asked what she thought about Mone joining AEW. The British star bluntly replied that she doesn’t care, claiming Mone has done little to try and help the women’s division, despite her comments in interviews.

I don’t care. Honestly, half the time, I don’t know she’s stepped in here because I don’t know this, but she has her own locker room. So she says she’s here to help and she cares so much? So come into our locker room. Come into our tiny little locker room and help us, teach us, share your knowledge from all these years of experience you’ve apparently had.

But no, she’s sitting in her locker room, and she’s writing her Mone Mag. I mean, how many people are reading that magazine? Who actually cares about your magazine? Because I care about women’s wrestling, and I care about being on the show and getting more than 10 minutes.

So if you care, come step in the room with me,”

When asked if she felt slighted by Mone getting more TV time, May said she does, because she’s better than the TBS Champion.

Mercedes Mone Keeping An Eye On Mariah May

During a recent interview, Mercedes Mone praised Mariah May, before warning that she’s coming for her AEW World Championship. The former WWE star added that AEW has the strongest women’s division in the world.

May is set to defend the Women’s Title against Mina Shirakawa on the December 11th edition of Dynamite. While a week later Mone will defend the TBS Title against Anna Jay.
