AEW Star Gets Big-Name Agent As Contract In Doubt
Barry Bloom is working with another AEW star.
Hook, the son of ECW legend and AEW announcer Taz, became All Elite in 2020 but had to wait to make his in-ring debut until December 2021.
Since then the star has become a regular presence on television, winning the FTW Title created by his father on three occasions before ultimately retiring it.
In recent months, Samoa Joe has taken Hook under his wing, and the pair, along with Katsuyori Shibata are now known as The Opps. After officially giving themselves the moniker in February 2025, the group made a big impression on the February 19 edition of Dynamite with a win over The Patriarchy.
However, it seems that Hook’s contract is coming up soon, and he’s preparing to get the best deal possible, wherever that may be.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, AEW is working to ensure Hook remains with the company. Interestingly, the star has also secured the services of high-profile agent Barry Bloom.
Bloom, who has previously worked on behalf of The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Jim Ross, and more, actually agreed a deal with Hook several months ago, but the partnership has only just become public knowledge.
AEW Signs Former TNA Champion
Meanwhile, AEW has officially signed highly-rated free agent “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
Confirmation of Bailey’s arrival finally came during the February 22 edition of Collision when a vignette aired featuring the star in action. The short clip ended with the message “Speedball Mike Bailey is coming.” It’s believed the star has signed a “multi-year” contract with the company.
The deal will be a boost for the company after it recently released wantaway stars Malakai Black, Ricky Starks, and Miro.
