AEW Star Bandido Confirms Injury Setback
Bandido has suffered a fresh blow as he looks to resume his career.
At Ring of Honor Final Battle, Bandido returned to television for the first time since June 2023.
On the show, Chris Jericho successfully defended his ROH World Title against Matt Cardona, but the victory wasn’t enough. After the match, Jericho and The Learning Tree continued to put the boots to Cardona before Bandido made a surprise appearance to help the challenger.
During the exchange, the popular Mexican star hit Jericho with a dropkick from the top rope, but his head violently snapped off the canvas on landing and he looked visibly dazed in the minutes afterward.
Following the event, it was reported that Bandido had suffered a concussion, and there was no word on how long he’d be out of action.
Bandido Shares Update With Fans
In a post on Instagram, Bandido confirmed he’d suffered a concussion while thanking fans for their continued support.
“What a week-end! All I can do is thank God for allowing me to wake up another day after all that has been through!. The blow was in a delicate area of my head, now just to wait till there is no brain inflammation. Thank you to all my people who have been messaging me asking about my current status!!.
It’s been hard to cope with these days with myself, too much frustration runs over my head. The hardest battle of my life is coming, with myself!!
All I can say is that I will try to return a thousand and one times to the squad!! so I achieve it at some point or stay trying…!
“Neither you, nor me, nor anyone will hit as hard as life but no matter how hard you do it!” No matter how hard you resist and keep moving forward, that’s how you win” ROCKY BALBOA
Final Battle also saw the return of Danhausen who hadn’t appeared for ROH or AEW since late 2023. In recent weeks it was reported that the star hadn’t been in regular contact with Tony Khan for around six months and had become frustrated with being kept on the sidelines.
