Missing AEW Star Spotted Backstage As All In Speculation Mounts

Jack Perry vs. Lio Rush on AEW Dynamite

A controversial AEW star could be on the verge of a comeback.

Jack Perry hasn’t wrestled in AEW since losing the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear back in November. He did go on to wrestle at NJPW Strong Style Evolved and later Wrestle Dynasty in Japan, but after losing to Yota Tsuji, he disappeared.

However, a return to AEW might not be too far away.

According to a report from Wrestle Votes, Perry has been seen backstage at several recent AEW events. This, in turn, has kicked off renewed speculation that he could return to the fold at All In on July 12.

Why Has Jack Perry Been Absent From AEW

Although he hasn’t wrestled in AEW for eight months and hasn’t wrestled at all since January, his absence remains a mystery. Reporting back in June, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Jack Perry isn’t injured, and remains available, only that Tony Khan had simply decided not to use him.

Jack Perry, I know is – he can be booked, he’s just not right now, as far as why I don’t know. I just remember I had a conversation about when Jack Perry’s coming back and it’s like he is, [Tony Khan’s] got the guys he’s using right now and when he has the need for Jack Perry to be back, he’ll be back. I don’t know when that’ll be.

Prior to his absence, Perry had been aligned with The Elite, and The Young Bucks will be involved in a match with huge stakes at All In. At the event in Texas, the Bucks will face Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay.

If the Jackson brothers win, Ospreay and Strickland won’t be able to challenge for the World Championship for a year. However, if they lose, they’ll be stripped of their EVP status.
