AEW Star Asked For MJF Storyline To Be Cut Short
An AEW star made sure their storyline with MJF was brought to an end.
Ahead of the August 6 edition of AEW Dynamite, it was reported that there was heat between MVP and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. According to that report, MVP has made no secret of the fact that he dislikes Bailey and that he didn’t want Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin dropping the World Tag Team Championship to the star and Kevin Knight.
The report also claimed that the Hurt Syndicate had refused to lose the gold to FTR at All In and Forbidden Door. Instead, they would prefer to lose to a younger team such as The Outrunners, Gates of Agony, or Private Party. People within AEW were quick to point out that the duo had already beaten all of those teams.
In addition, there was said to be frustration that the group beats up everyone using cool moves while high-fiving fans at ringside, despite being heels.
MJF Storyline Was Cut Short
Interestingly, a new report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has backed up another part of that report that stated that MJF’s storyline with the group was planned to last much longer.
Dave Meltzer noted that the partnership was abruptly cut short at the request of someone in the group, but not MVP.
Back in March, MJF began his on-screen push to join the Hurt Syndicate, despite repeatedly being rejected. However, he was eventually allowed in, only to be kicked out following All In for his selfish attitude.
