AEW Star Almost Fired Due To Tag Team Partner
One AEW star has made the audacious claim that they were almost fired due to the actions of their tag team partner.
The tag team scene in AEW is arguably stronger than ever, with Brodido capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Forbidden Door. The Young Bucks are back to their best after capturing half a million dollars, FTR continue to prove their credentials as top guys, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reunited, but a sickening attack has led to Copeland walking away for now, Jurassic Express has got back together, and The Don Callis Family seems to have as many combinations for partnerships as Keegan Bradley had to pick from for his US Ryder Cup team. And all of them have a better chance of winning a match than Harris English and Colin Morikawa.
But one pair of former AEW Tag Team Champions are not having the best time of things since splitting up. Max Caster has proven to himself that he’s the Best Wrestler Alive in open challenges, where he loses every week. Anthony Bowens has gone on to become one of the most unpopular stars with AEW crowds.
Jerry Lynn has taken it upon himself to try to get The Acclaimed back together so they can put their past issues behind them and find success as a team once again. But it might not be that simple.
Anthony Bowens Feared For AEW Job
Speaking with Good Karma Wrestling, Anthony Bowens claimed that he feared losing his job due to being associated with Max Caster, who has been involved in his fair share of controversy in AEW:
People don’t understand what I went through backstage with Max Caster. I can’t be any more genuine – there were times where I thought I was not going to have a job anymore, and that is terrifying as somebody who has always dreamed of being on television, being on Dynamite, wrestling every week.
And then to come to work and potentially have that ripped away for something that you didn’t even do, that’s a petrifying thought. And that’s what I lived with every week tagging with this guy, because – I’m not gonna get into it – there was just occurrence after occurrence after occurrence after occurrence where I was cleaning up this guy’s mess.
