AEW Star Alluded To On WWE SmackDown
On a big night of WWE SmackDown action on the Road to WrestleMania, many fans were left discussing one AEW star who was referenced on the show.
Rhea Ripley booked her place at WrestleMania 39 when she outlasted 29 other women to win the 2023 Royal Rumble – becoming the first woman to do so as the number one entrant in the match.
Ripley didn’t wait long to make clear which WWE champion she’d be challenging in Los Angeles, CA on April 1st or 2nd as she set her sights on SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. The two women previously met at WrestleMania in 2020 where Flair defeated Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship.
A lot has changed in three years for Ripley and she now has an ex-con that calls her mami on television every week. It was this jailbird, Dominik Mysterio, that came face-to-face with The Queen on SmackDown and had a warning that his mami was strong that she almost “breaks his back” when she hugs him.
Flair issued her own retort that she has a “real Latino man at home who calls me mami with a much thicker…accent.” That man is of course Charlotte Flair’s husband, AEW star Andrade El Idolo.

Andrade El Idolo has not been on AEW television in several months since he was sent home for apparently getting into a physical altercation backstage with Sammy Guevara. El Idolo’s future in the company remains somewhat uncertain at this time although he is currently out of action with an injury.
