AEW Star Aiming For “Slow And Methodical” Recovery After Major Knee Surgery
An injured AEW star is taking their time as they work back to full fitness.
In the days after losing the TNT Championship to Kyle Fletcher on July 31, Dustin Rhodes announced that he required “very invasive major surgery.” An emotional Rhodes confirmed that he needed double knee replacement surgery, while quickly denying that his injuries were in any way part of a storyline.
In a follow-up post, Dustin Rhodes said that his knees were “destroyed,” but despite that, he remains determined to return to the ring.
In a new post on social media, Rhodes gave an update on his recovery, complete with a photo of his battered knees.
Today marks 2 wks since surgery. Don’t really know how I was doing it these last 5 yrs. Knees were destroyed. Dressing off finally. I look forward to a slow and methodical rehab. Slow and steady. Thank yall for all of your support and prayers. God has it under control. 🤘🏼❤️

AEW Star Jay White To Miss Remainder Of 2025
Meanwhile, a recent report has confirmed that Jay White is set to remain out of action into 2026.
It was first confirmed that White was dealing with a broken hand in April, and as a result, wouldn’t be able to compete in the Owen Hart Cup. However, several months later, White still hasn’t returned to action.
Tony Khan even suggested on a media call that Switchblade would be out for a long time, although he declined to offer any further details.
According to the latest report on his status, White has likely recovered from the previously disclosed hand injury, but he’s also sought treatment for a shoulder issue. This has extended his absence well beyond what was originally expected.
