AEW Star Addresses Difficult Speculation As Contract Runs Down

One AEW star is trying to block out the noise.

At All In, Daniel Garcia returned to AEW for the first time since July when he was left beaten and broken by MJF. On the show, Garcia confronted the former World Champion and knocked him down before Will Ospreay followed up to win the International Title.

Garcia will now face MJF one-on-one at All Out on September 7th.

However, despite his strong return to television, uncertainty continues to surround Garcia as he is yet to sign a new AEW contract. It’s thought that his current deal expires in October.

While some took Garcia’s return at All In as a sign he’s staying put, Tony Khan gave little away at the post-show press conference.

In a new interview with Good Karma Wrestling, Garcia was asked about the very public speculation, and he admitted it’s been tough to deal with.

I won’t lie, I mean, it can be difficult sometimes when every time you open up your phone and it’s somebody assuming something about you and your life. Not even just your career. It’s real-life stuff that people are assuming about.

So sometimes it can be a little difficult and it can get into your head and it can make you just question everything and it can be frustrating because you’re like, ‘Where is this information coming from? Where are people getting this information?’

So honestly, it can be a lot to process sometimes but, I think if you just, you know, move with integrity, stick to your guns and have full belief that you’re doing what’s right and that you will do what’s right, I think that’s what matters most. I think if you do that, it can be easier to block out the noise than if you’re not.

Daniel Garcia Expected To Stay With AEW

Despite the speculation, the most recent report on the subject suggested that Daniel Garcia is prepared to spurn interest from WWE and stay with AEW.

The report noted that while the sports entertainment giant held an interest and Garcia was at least open to a move at one stage, he won’t be going anywhere. Or at least that’s now the view from within WWE.

Speculation also continues to surround the futures of Ricky Starks and the Lucha Brothers who many expect to join WWE when their contracts expire.
