AEW Star Addresses Absence, Confirms Injury
A veteran AEW wrestler has commented on his lengthy absence while confirming that he is dealing with an injury.
Professional wrestling fans were first introduced to Miro over a decade ago when he was known as Rusev in WWE. The powerful Bulgarian made his AEW debut in the fall of 2020 and has been TNT Champion during his All Elite Wrestling run.
Miro’s All Elite run has also been filled with extended absences since he wrestled only four matches in 2022 and seven matches in 2023. Miro’s last AEW match was at World’s End on December 30th, 2023 when he defeated Andrade, who left All Elite Wrestling following that loss so he could go back to WWE.
While talking to Bill Apter for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Miro revealed that he’s been dealing with multiple injuries.
“I have a shoulder injury and an elbow injury that occurred late last year, so finally took care of it [in] late January, got a whole bunch of shots. Now I’m recovering, rehabbing, and come back stronger than ever.”
In other Miro news, it was reported in March that he is separated from his wife CJ Perry, whom he met in WWE when she was known as Lana. Perry also works for All Elite Wrestling.
