AEW Shows On Ballots For 2023 Emmy Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2023 Emmy Awards and AEW could be celebrating success with two of the company’s shows among the ballots for nominations.
AEW’s flagship show Dynamite launched in 2019 and has been the company’s bedrock on Wednesday nights since then. Dynamite is now listed on the ballot for Outstanding Structured Reality Program for the 2023 Emmy Awards. It faces tough competition in that category from the likes of Antiques Roadshow, Queer Eye, Shark Tank, and Who Do You Think You Are?
The company’s foray into reality television has also been noticed as AEW: All Access is on the ballot for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program. The six-part series which first aired in March 2023 took viewers behind the scenes in the company as egos sometimes clashed in the locker room. That category also sees the likes of The Kardashians, Married at First Sight, and AEW’s ratings rival Vanderpump Rules nominated.
Twenty thousand members of the Television Academy will whittle each category down to five nominees with voting ending on June 26th and the winners of that vote revealed on July 12th.
AEW is celebrating the success of the debut edition of Collision that saw CM Punk return to the company, picking up a win in the main event of the show as he teamed with FTR to defeat Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe.
