AEW Shares Injury Update On Daniel Garcia
Daniel Garcia is banged up thanks to MJF.
In the main event of the July 3rd episode of Dynamite, Daniel Garcia challenged Will Ospreay for the International Championship. Garcia has grown increasingly frustrated with his run of late and saw the match against the British star as a chance to remind the world just what he was about.
Although he was beaten by Ospreay, Garcia turned in another impressive performance to keep his stock high with the AEW faithful.
However, following the final bell, he was brutally attacked and left bloodied by MJF. The beating was so severe that Garcia left the arena on a stretcher
In an update on social media in the early hours of July 4th, AEW noted that Garcia is dealing with “cervical injuries.”
EXCLUSIVE MEDICAL UPDATE ON DANIEL GARCIA! After receiving a brutal attack at the hands @The_MJF TONIGHT on #AEWDynamite, @garciawrestling was taken to a Chicago hospital for evaluation. He has regained consciousness, and is still under observation for cervical injuries.
Daniel Garcia To Leave AEW?
Ahead of Dynamite, it was reported Garcia’s AEW contract is set to expire in “the fall” unless he’s signed a new deal very recently. Given his age and potential, Garcia would be a highly sought-after free agent, should things go that far.
In a new update, Dave Meltzer has confirmed Daniel Garcia’s contract expires in October, meaning his contract has just three months to run. However, those close to the star expect him to remain with All Elite Wrestling.
