AEW Set To Sign Top Free Agent
The AEW roster is about to get a little bigger.
On July 1st it was confirmed Ricochet is officially a free agent after letting his WWE contract expire. The star had already informed the company of his decision to move on several weeks earlier, and he immediately drew interest from a number of major promotions.
The news came after AEW’s Will Ospreay spoke of his frustration at how Ricochet was being used in WWE. Ospreay said it was “appalling” that the star was being used on the company’s Speed show on X when he’s one of the greatest high-flyers in the world.
Ospreay has also admitted he wants to wrestle the star again, and it seems he’s going to get his wish.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Ricochet is expected to become All Elite “soon.” The star’s agent was backstage at Dynamite on July 3rd and he’s been leading talks between the two sides. The agent represents several other talents in both WWE and AEW.
TNA Star Visits AEW Dynamite
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Mustafa Ali was also backstage visiting during Dynamite in Chicago.
Since leaving WWE in September 2023, Ali has wrestled regularly for TNA, but he’s been working on a per-appearance deal and isn’t signed to a long-term contract.
Speaking ahead of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Tony Khan said he would continue to be active in free agency.
