AEW Set To Be Part Of Wrestle Kingdom

A new report has outlined how AEW competitors are set to cross the divide once again and feature on NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom.

The alliance between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling came to the forefront in June 2022, when the two companies finally teamed up to present Forbidden Door. The main event of the show saw Hiroshi Tanahashi go to battle against Jon Moxley to crown an interim AEW World Champion whilst CM Punk was sidelined through injury.

This has led many to question when the perceived door will be kicked down again, and when the two companies will team up in a similar fashion. It would seem there is now a likely timeframe for this to happen.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer that NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom, the company’s biggest show of the year, is set to feature appearances from AEW wrestlers.

Yes, I don’t know how many but I have in fact been told of certain plans for AEW wrestlers on Wrestle Kingdom. […] There are plans for certain AEW guys to be at the Tokyo Dome shows, yes.

The report seems to confirm that it will be more than one talent from Tony Khan’s organisation that will be competing, but gives no clue as to who the wrestlers could be.

NJPW also recently confirmed their return to the United Kingdom for this October, when they will run Royal Quest 2 in Crystal Palace.
