AEW & ROH Join Forces To Take On Another Promotion

Tony Khan AEW

AEW is making 2025 an international year and now Tony Khan’s two promotions will do battle with another company for a special show.

Earlier in 2025, AEW was forced to abandon plans for a stadium show as Grand Slam went international and headed to Brisbane, Australia. The event took place in an arena instead and saw Toni Storm recapture the AEW Women’s World Championship from Mariah May.

Now, Grand Slam is going international once again as AEW will make its debut in Mexico in the historic Arena Mexico as Tony Khan’s company partners with CMLL on June 18.

But that won’t be the only AEW show taking place in Mexico as AEW and ROH are set to team up to do battle with CMLL’s stars.

AEW & ROH Battling CMLL

On June 17 – the night before Grand Slam – CMLL has confirmed on their YouTube show that an event will be held billed as CMLL vs. AEW/ROH in Arena Mexico. CMLL also confirmed that AEW stars will take part in the promotion’s Fantastica Mania show on June 20. This means the Fantastica Mania card will feature wrestlers from CMLL, AEW, ROH, NJPW, NJPW Strong, and RevPro.

AEW confirmed the venue for 2025’s Forbidden Door event as it will also make its debut in Scotland, with Dynamite and Collision set to take place in Glasgow.
