AEW’s Ricochet Receives Tag Team Offer From Former WWE Rival
Ricochet needs to find a tag team partner for AEW Dynamite, which led to a former WWE wrestler making an offer.
After choosing to leave WWE when his contract expired, Ricochet has been All Elite since making his debut at the All In PPV in England.
At AEW WrestleDream, Konosuke Takeshita had a controversial win over Ospreay and Ricochet that saw him leave with the International Title. Since Ospreay was pinned, Ricochet feels like he is owed a title shot at Takeshita.
In addition to his title aspirations in AEW, Ricochet has his eye on New Japan as well since he attacked and challenged the IWGP World Champion Zack Sabre Jr. to a match while making it clear that “I’m still the f**king man” around here.
On AEW Dynamite in Manchester, New Hampshire, the Don Callis Family team of Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher will team up against Ricochet and a mystery partner.
Could Ricochet Team Up With a Wrestler From His WWE Past?
That mystery partner option has led to fans speculating that maybe it’s a returning Ospreay, who was injured by his former best friend Fletcher. Meanwhile, former WWE superstar Donovan Dijak went on social media to suggest himself for the role.
Hi @KingRicochet, this is Donovan Dijak, last time you saw me I was T-Bar (sorry about the Retribution stuff) anyways I live about 26 minutes away from this arena so if you guys want to save on travel costs or whatever then I could definitely be your mystery partner. I’d probably just drive my own car there and the gas would only be like $9 or whatever so nbd.”
“It is a Wednesday though so my kids go to bed at 7pm and Daddy usually tucks them in but like I said 26 min drive so shouldn’t really be an issue unless we are the opener. Probably shouldn’t be the opener though right cause you’re a big star and the other guys are big stars, and I’m a pretty big star too plus it’s like a surprise debut and a hometown pop and stuff so that would be pretty exciting, maybe it should be the main event instead?”
“I dunno just spitballing, so anyways yeah if you think that’s a cool idea shoot me a text, we’ve texted before so you have my number, or DM or whatever both are fine. If not no worries, I know it’s a little bit short notice, maybe you already have someone else in mind. I’m kinda sore anyway because I’ve been wrestling quite a bit lately so the extra rest won’t kill me haha. But yeah either way let me know, hope all is well, good luck in your tag team match.”
Some of what Dijak wrote was done to create some laughs, but it would also be a way to have a new wrestler appear on AEW television.
Ricochet replied with: “Haha this is great. I’ll give it a think.”
Tune in to AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, November 6th to find out who is Ricochet’s mystery tag team partner.
Haha this is great. I'll give it a think.
