AEW Receiving Tax Credits For Future Show

AEW is set to receive over $1 million in tax credit for an upcoming event.

All Elite Wrestling will be one of the companies to receive a newly announced tax credit from Ohio. In a press release, the state’s Governor, Mike DeWine, announced that $36.7 million of tax credit will be used in support of the film and television industry.

AEW will get $1.275 million from the fund for a future event in the state. There are currently no details on which show the credit is for, with the company being listed as “AEW 2024-2025 Productions, Cleveland/TBD.” This could mean that an announcement on the specific event or events will come at a later date.

In his announcement, Governor DeWine highlighted the economic benefits of entertainment productions in Ohio.

“Ohio is an ideal location for entertainment production; we offer big city backdrops, small town appeal, and everything in between. We’re happy to welcome these productions — and the economic impact they’ll bring — to Ohio.”

This won’t be the first time Ohio has awarded tax credit to a wrestling company, as the state has given WWE $1.7 million for 2024. F4WOnline noted that this could be tied to SummerSlam, which takes place in Cleveland’s Browns Stadium on August 3rd.

AEW Star’s Future Uncertain After Being Pulled From TV

Daniel Garcia is reportedly considering leaving AEW. The star was recently written off TV after being on the receiving end of a vicious assault by MJF. Garcia’s contract is set to end in October and he has yet to re-sign with the company. The assault angle was done in such a way that it explains his departure if he decides to leave the promotion, but also opens the door to a feud with the American Champion if he does sign a new deal.
