AEW Receives Huge Media Rights Offer From WBD

AEW is reviewing a new offer from Warner Bros Discovery.

AEW is currently involved in talks with Warner Bros Discovery regarding a new media rights deal. The company’s current deal expires in 2024 and the situation has created wave after wave of speculation.

However, it seems the negotiations are finally moving toward a conclusion.

According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select, WBD recently made another offer for the promotion’s long-term media rights. The offer reportedly came after Tony Khan and WBD boss David Zaslav met in Paris during the Olympics.

The offer is said to be “extensive,” and currently in AEW’s hands under review. Both parties are optimistic that a deal will be made, although there’s no news on when an announcement could be made.

Prior to the most recent offer, WBD had offered “almost double” the amount of the existing contract, although it’s unclear whether this is for the same amount of content.

WBD sources noted that inquiries had been made in 2023 about a shift in pay-per-view strategy. There was no comment on what this shift could entail. Over the last 12 months, AEW has made several changes to its PPV schedule, adding more events than ever before.

Sources from both sides want the partnership to continue for many years.

Tony Khan Says AEW Will Make History

The report comes after Tony Khan went public to claim that “the most important announcements in AEW history looming large.”

Interestingly, a huge announcement has already arrived with the news that Khan will be taking All In to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on July 12, 2025. The event marks the company’s largest stadium show in the United States, and the first wrestling show to be held at the venue.

It’s already been confirmed that the event will return to the UK in 2026.
