AEW Rankings Return Following Dynamite
The AEW rankings are back to provide some clarity on who are the top contenders for the various championships in the company.
It was announced by AEW’s Owner/CEO Tony Khan earlier in January that the company’s ranking system would be back. The last official AEW rankings were posted on the company website on August 31, 2022, which is when they stopped doing them.
When Khan announced the ranking system would return, it was announced that former two-time AEW World Champion CM Punk was the person who got Khan to stop doing them. Now that CM Punk was fired by AEW in September 2023 and back in WWE as of November 2023, Khan decided to bring the ranking system back.
During the AEW Dynamite episode in New Orleans, it was announced that the new rankings would be announced after Dynamite.
The AEW rankings, which appear on the company website, for January 31 are as follows.

AEW Dynamite To Feature Top Contenders Match
Now that the rankings are back, AEW may opt to feature more matches for ranked contenders. On Dynamite, it was announced that the February 7th edition of Dynamite will feature a match between Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page.
The winner of that Swerve/Hangman match will be the number one contender for the AEW World TItle and that means they will challenge AEW World Champion Samoa Joe the Revolution PPV on March 3rd.
