AEW Originals On The Brink Of Exit
A popular AEW tag team could leave the company.
Private Party signed with AEW in April 2019 and became a staple of the company during its early months and years. However, that momentum came to a halt when Marq Quen suffered an injury in 2022.
Once Quen reunited with Isiah Kassidy in early 2024, the pair resumed their hunt for tag team gold and beat the Young Bucks to win the World Tag Team Championship in October.
The pair held the titles until January 22, 2025, when they lost to the Hurt Syndicate, and they haven’t wrestled on television since.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Quen and Kassidy’s contracts will expire soon. There’s no word on whether they’ve been offered new deals or have plans to leave the company.
“Private Party’s deals are up very soon.”
Several AEW Stars Sign With WWE
2025 has seen a number of AEW stars make the jump to WWE upon being released or after their contracts have expired.
In recent weeks, this has seen Mariah May sign with WWE after becoming one of the hottest female stars in North American wrestling following her lengthy feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm. Since signing with the company, May has been renamed Blake Monroe after setting her sights on NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne.
Monroe is yet to make her in-ring debut.
The move comes after Rey Fenix, Penta, Ricky Saints, Rusev, and Aleister Black all left AEW for WWE.
