AEW Once Again Breaks Record For All-Time TV Ratings In The UK
After it was reported that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) would be going to the United Kingdom in 2023, the UK responded with record-breaking ratings for the promotion.
The October 28, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite would bring a tally of 201,000 viewers in the UK, with the main event of that episode being a AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and Penta El Zero Miedo, with Moxley retaining the title. The 201,000 figure is an all-time record for AEW programming since it started broadcasting on ITV4.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, the October 14, 2022 episode of Dynamite brought in just 148,000 in comparison, which equals up to be a 35% increase in viewership for All Elite Wrestling in only two weeks.
It appears that Dynamite’s ratings are shooting up in the UK because of the time slot change they underwent on ITV4. Prior to the change, Dynamite was on television between 10:30-11:55 PM, with the program never being on a consistent schedule due to a time never being settled on.
Ultimately though, AEW and ITV4 have settled on the 9:00 PM slot, and with the numbers they are, it appears to have worked with viewers.
With the most recent Rampage ratings out of the United Kingdom, the October 25, 2022 edition of the show brought in a total of 99,000 viewers.
